Zásady pro vypracování

Předpokládaný cíl práce je poukázat na konkrétní vliv opozičního tábora, vedeného republikánkou Phyllis Schlaflyovou, na nepřijetí zrovnoprávňujícího dodatku americké ústavy (tzv. Equal Rights Amendment) a jeho vlivu na budoucí působení feministického hnutí v USA především v 70. a 80. letech. Cílem práce je dále porovnat dva odlišné tábory ženského hnutí, přičemž jeden se přidal na stranu Schlaflyové a druhý ji považoval za pokrytce a od jejích názorů se distancoval.

Předběžná náplň práce

Práce s názvem „Role Phyllis Schlafly v nepřijetí dodatku o rovných právech a její odkaz dnes“ pojednává o antifeministické konzervativní vedoucí hnutí STOP ERA Phyllis Schlafly, jež se stala vedoucí opozice vůči dodatku o rovných právech a jež mezi lety 1972-1982 cílenou kampaní především na křesťanské ženy v domácnosti odvrátila schválení tohoto dodatku. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol pojednávajících o historii opozice vůči dodatku, o politickém angažmá Phyllis Schlafly, o formování opozice ERA v 70. letech 20. století a o odkazu Phyllis Schlafly. Na příkladu zmobilizování křesťanské pravice na Floridě v 70. letech 20. století práce dokládá důležitost této náboženské koalice v ovlivňování voleb floridských zákonodárců v 70. a 80. letech 20. století. Cílem práce je odhalit taktiky, jimiž Schlafly ovlivnila nepřijetí ERA, analyzovat klíčovou roli křesťanské pravice a dále představit její přetrvávající vliv na konzervativní pravici.

Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce

The aim of the bachelor thesis called “The Impact of the Equal Rights Amendment Opposition Movement, Led by Phyllis Schlafly, and her Legacy Today” is to prove Schlafly role in the battle of Equal Rights Amendment. The thesis is divided to four parts, which deals with history of ERA opposition, Phyllis Schlafly political experiences and her legacy. Using the example of the mobilization of the Christian right in Florida in the 1970s, the thesis demonstrates the importance of this religious coalition in influencing the elections of Florida lawmakers in the 1970s and 1980s. The aim of this work is to reveal the tactics by which Schlafly influenced the non-adoption of the ERA, and to further present its persistent political and social influence on the conservative right.
