Hannah Arendt belongs without a doubt to the most significant political thinkers of the twentieth century. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyze her distinctive attitude towards the Jewish question and especially her view of Zionism. The latter is often reduced to the unfortunate controversy which sprung up around Arendt’s report on Adolf Eichmann’s trial, but an insight into her work reveals a much richer field of thoughts which remain topical even today. Especially the works written after 1944, when Arendt irretrievably breaks with the growing uniformity in the Zionist circles, offer us among other things a unique perspective of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict whose settlement remains even today, almost half a century after Arendt’s death, out of sight.
