V průběhu samotné přípravy práce bude základní hypotéza rozpracována do dílčích zkoumaných podoblastí. V teoretické části budou shrnuty a srovnány zásadní stávající akademické práce, týkající se procesu bulvarizace v médiích. Součástí bude také představení konceptu veřejnoprávních médií a posléze i konkrétně České televize. Ve výzkumné části bude mezi konkrétní zkoumané faktory řazen poměr tzv. hard news/soft news, domácích/zahraničních zpráv, tematická skladba reportáží (domácí politika, zahraniční politika, ekonomika: veřejné/osobní finance, kultura, společenské události a celebrity, věda a zdravotnictví, sport, kriminalita, nehody a neštěstí, soukromé lidské příběhy, rady a tipy pro diváky, počasí, self promo, ostatní), celková délka reportáže a výskyt prvků tzv. personalizace.

The main goal of the diploma thesis is to confirm the hypothesis that we can observe higher level of tabloidization in the news produced by the Czech television. The quantitative content analysis is about to cover the period of time between years 2003 and 2013. The main hypothesis is going to be developed into more specific areas. The most important literature related to tabloidization will be presented in the theoretical part of the diploma thesis. Also, the concept of public service media will be introduced followed by the presentation of the Czech television as an institution. Particular elements indicating the tabloidization in news are going to be defined in the analytical part of the diploma thesis. These are going to be the proportion of hard news and soft news, home and foreign affairs covered, topics of the reportages (politics, economics, culture, social events and celebrities, science, sport, criminality, accidents, human interest stories, tips for the audience, weather, self-promotion), length of the reportage and elements showing personalization.
