The expected aim of this thesis is to reveal what stance towards Serb minority employed Croatian governments in the period 2000–2011. The research of this stance will consist of three parts – enacted laws with an impact on national minorities, their implementation and statements made by ruling politicians on Serbs. The position of Serb minority was improving during the researched period. Croatia coped with discriminatory laws inherited from previous government and expressions of hatred towards Serbs were replaced with the political correctness throughout that period. The process of normalization of Serbian position formally ended with the accession to the EU. The anticipated goal is to find out how much was this development linked to the Croatian integration to the EU.
