| This diploma thesis will explore problems of various modern theories of consciousness coming from analytic tradition as seen from the perspective of continental tradition philosophies which work with the idea of elusive or inobjectifiable subjective pole. The main inspiration comes from Karl Jaspers’concept of “Subjekt-Objekt-Spaltung” and Jan Patočka’s idea of “nepředmětné nitro”. The aim of the thesis will be to show that the exposed modern analytic theories miss (each to a different extent) the most important aspect of consciousness – the elusive and inobjectifiable subjectivity, the subjective pole. Their tendency to see the whole reality in purely objective terms is to be questioned by the openness toward the possibility that the only way to do justice to the subjective aspect of consciousness is via some kind of transcendence of the objectifying thinking. |
