The aim of this doctoral thesis is to optimize the methods for the determination of antioxidant enzymes catalase, superoxide dismutase and paraoxonase. Afterthat the investigation of the behaviour of these antioxidant enzymes – catalase, superoxide dismutase and paraoxonase - in different pathophysiological states is planned. The activities of catalase, superoxide dismutase and paraoxonase will be determined in patients with depressive disorders, metabolic syndrome, in patients in sepsis and in patients with acute or chronic pancreatitis and with carcinoma of pancreas.
