Zásady pro vypracování
Etnicita Číny - kdo je Hui a kdo Dungan?
Disertace se zabývá obecnou problematikou teoretických přístupů k etnicitě, jejich klasifikací a analýzou a přichází s vlastní koncepcí etnicity jako sekundární identity, která je následně uplatněna ve dvou rovinách.
První rovinou je etnicita Číny, kde je diskutován historický vývoj nacionalismů, terminologie a etnických politik v Číně, jejich dopadů a důsledků na současnou podobu etnicity. Je diskutován ústřední pojem minzu, který je následně diskutován v kontextu evropských a sovětských teorií, kterými byl ovlivněn.
Druhou rovinou je případová komparační studie čínských Huiů a středoasijských Dunganů, která vychází z terénních výzkumů pořízených u obou etnik. Studie zkoumá odlišnosti v etnicitě obou skupin v důsledku vývoje v odlišných socio-politických prostředích.
