A referrative seminar, aimed at new trends and emerging technologies in the area of networking, data communications and the Internet. In each course, individual topics are selected and assigned to students. They study the topic assigned, give a lecture about it and produce a written tutorial. The number of participants is limited to 10, so that each student is given an adequate amount of time to present his results.

A referative seminar, aimed at new trends and emerging technologies in the area of networking, data communications and the Internet. In each course, individual topics are selected and assigned to students. They study the topic assigned, give a lecture about it and produce a written tutorial.

The following topics are proposed for this semester:

• New WiFi standards(IEEE 802.11ac, ad, ah ....)

• The blockchain concept ....

• Net NEutrality and open internet access

• SDN (SW Defined Networking)

• NGA networks: variants, topology, technology ....

• PON (Passive Optical Networks)

• xDSL technologies: vectoring, VDSLx

• FTTx networks, with focus on FTTC (Fiber to the Cabinet)

• OTT (Over The Top) services

• VoLTE a WiFi Calling (Voice over WiFi)

• Trends in mobile security

• IEEE 802.11ac and other WiFi developments

• Open data (formats, availability, usage)

• Digital signature formats (PAdES, CAdES a XAdES)

• Server Signing (digital signatures as a service)

• Electronic identities and identification (in relation to the eIDAS regulation)

• Single-Sign On systems

• SAML language and identity data handling •
