Guidelines
The major goal of the thesis is to propose an approach to analyzing and visualizing datasets described by Data Cubes [1,4,5] metaformat in combination with Linked Data [2] principles. The student will experiment with Data Cube Vocabulary [6] and, if necessary, with other suitable Linked Data vocabularies. He will implement extensions for the Payola [3] system. He will design an analytical plugin which will enable a user to work with a specified dictionary from the Data Cubes family as well as to map the dictionary semantics to an arbitrary RDF document. Therefore, the Payola system will provide means to convert an RDF document to the Data Cubes metaformat. The student will also implement a set of visualization plugins to provide specific visualizations for several chosen dimensions described in available dictionaries. While integrating the functionality related to the Data Cubes metaformat, the student will also implement some missing user interface features of the Payola system.
