Obor informační věda se zabývá zákonitostmi procesů vzniku, zpracování, zpřístupnění, transformace, distribuce a recepce informací ve společnosti. Principy a poznatky informační vědy jsou využívány v oblastech zabezpečení a racionalizace sociálních, informačních a komunikačních procesů ve vládním, veřejném i soukromém sektoru, v paměťových institucích nebo informačních službách. Informační věda tak zahrnuje jak problematiku knihovědného výzkumu rukopisů, vzácných tisků a čtenářské recepce od středověku po současnost, tak otázky výzkumu komunikace informací ve společnosti, vědeckých informací a výzkumných dat, problematiku nových médií či výzkum sociálních sítí a kolaborativních informačních systémů v prostředí globálních digitálních sítí.
Learning outcomes
Absolvent má obsáhnou znalost oboru informační věda a odbornou způsobilost rozvíjet a aplikovat nejmodernější vědecké metody a postupy za účelem rozvoje základního i aplikovaného výzkumu v oboru. Je schopen identifikovat, analyzovat, vyhodnocovat a interpretovat poznatky vycházející ze současného stavu poznání oboru i identifikovat a formulovat vývojové trendy rozvoje informační a znalostní společnosti, informační politiky, informačního chování i informačních technologií.
Study profile
Information science is concerned with the process patterns of creation, processing, storage, transformation, distribution and reception of information in society. Principles and findings of information science are used in the fields of data, information and communication management in the government, public and private sector as well as memory institutions and other institutions providing information services. Information science spans a broad range of research topics, involving manuscript research, rare books and readers´ reception from the Middle Ages up to the present, as well as research questions related to communication of information in society, scientific information and research data, issues related to new media and research on social networks and collaborative information systems in global digital networks.
Learning outcomes
Graduates of the Ph.D. programme have comprehensive knowledge of information science and are competent to develop and apply the most advanced scientific methods and procedures for the development of basic and applied research in the field. They are able to identify, analyse, evaluate and interpret findings based on contemporary knowledge of the subject and identify and formulate development trends in information and knowledge society, information policy, information behaviour and information technology.
