Je určen především studentům Erasmus či jiných zahraničních programů a vyučován v angličtině. The course takes place at the Language Centre and is organised in collaboration with the Institute for Greek and Latin Studies. The course is intended mainly for foreign students (Erasmus and other international programmes) and it is instructed in English. Aim: The course is designed for students with no or minimal knowledge of Latin. The students will learn basic vocabulary, morphology and syntactic structures in order to be able to read a simple text. Course organization: 2 lessons once a week (see the LC timetables).<br> |

Requirements: attendance (80%), active participation in class, homework (translations) and a final written test.
Credits: 3, grades 1/2/3 and 4 (fail). |

The final written test will be based on the translation of a simple Latin text with particular grammar tasks covered in the classes. The final grade will consist of the work in class, homework and the final test. |

Text: Understanding basic Latin texts and the foundations of Latin sentence structure. Morphology: 1st, 2nd, 3rd declension – nouns and adjectives; present tense, imperfect tense, perfect tense, (pluperfect tense); pronouns. Syntax: Word order, longer sentences with some conjunctions. |
