Cílem předmětu je poskytnout vodítka pro problematiku pedagogické evaluace, s přihlédnutím k psychologickým trendům a metodám hodnocení v pedagogice, které se v současnosti rozvíjejí.

Kurz je primárně určen pro studenty PřF, kteří mají v případě velkého zájmu přednost. Informace se do jisté míry překrývají s předměty Metodologie a Psychometrie na KPS.

Aim of subject: This course aims to provide knowledge and skills needed for formal evaluation in various educational contexts. The course mainly focuses on developing quantitative assessment methods (e.g., tests, quizzes, performance-based assessment) and evaluating their rigor and merits. The course outcomes will be assessed by exams and projects-based assignments. Gained knowledge: Student understands basic methodological terms (e.g., validity, reliability, norms). Student can apply the measurement standards in developing rigorous assessment tool in education. Student can evaluate learners in multiple different ways and also knows several standardized assessment methods. Student can gauge the developed assessment methods based on their strengths and weaknesses and understands the complexity of testing of human subjects. Gained skills: Students can use basic statistics (e.g., descriptives, correlations, basic item analysis). Students can critically evaluate assessments methods based on multiple various criteria. Student can contribute to a discussion on selection and utility of assessments tools in regard to specific educational objectives.

To successfully pass the course students have to collect a sufficient amount of course points in the required assignments. The course requirements include:

Annotation: Evaluation can be viewed as inseparable from education. Regular testing and comparison gains on more importance in making informed educational decisions. Teacher need to understand the basics of appropriate use of measurement methods and know how to apply them and interpret them in classroom context. The course equips future educators with the fundamental skills to use tests and assessment responsibly and in adequate manner informed by an educational objective.
