Přednáška pojednává o umění a hmotné kultuře helénistického světa od doby Alexandra Velikého do počátku
římského
císařství. Je sledován společný vývoj a lokální styly v Řecku a nových helénistických říších: ptolemajském Egyptě,
seleukovské říši, Pergamu a Makedonii. Důrazu je kladen na rozbor skulptury, portrétu a v dalších okruzích je
probíráno
malířství a drobné umění: terakoty, bronzy, toreutika, keramika.
