Classes:

  • Lectures (Cervinka): Tuesday 18.30-19.50 in room 109 on the following dates February 2, February 27, March 6, March 13, March 20, March 27, April 10, April 17, April 24 (could be subject to change)
  • Exercise classes (Hanus, Nevrla, Smutna): Friday 8.00-9.20 (in rooms 105 and 314), Friday 14.00-15.20 (in rooms 206 and 314),Friday 15.30-16.50 (in rooms 206 and 314) on the following dates March 2, March 9, March 23, April 6, April 20)

Announcements:

  • Note that this course have 80-minute lectures and 80-minute excercise classes only on the dates specified above
  • SIS allows to give partial grading results (homeworks, midterms, etc) anonymously. During registration to the course, please, sign up formally for the lecture and select an exercise class of your choice. Only then it is possible to fill in your homework and test results to the Study Group Roster (modul Studijní mezivýsledky).

Important Information:

Please note that this mandatory course (for students of both Czech bachelor degree and English bachelor degree program of Economics and Finance) runs with two codes JEB132 and JEB142. For students who started their studies in the academic year 2015/16 or earlier, the document Karolinka specifies that such students must register to JEB132. For students who started in the academic year 2016/17 or later, the document Karolinka specifies that such students must register to JEB142.

All materials for download shall be posted only to website of JEB132 in SIS.

Instruction for signing up for the exercise classes:

Please select your favourite time-slot and sign up for a particular class in the Student Information System when signing up of the course. Please note there is a strict limit for each exercise class (for effective work during seminars on March 3 and March 9) and teaching assistants will be verifying the lists of registered students to each group during the classes.

Information for international students visiting IES

Please consider registration to this subject only after consulting with the lecturer. Registration without intention of passing the subject is not allowed. Students will not be given any certificate of participation only!

Grading 2017/18:


Two homeworks: each for 5 points (HW1 will be assigned on March 9; HW2 will be assigned on April 20)

Written test: 90-minute test for up to 40 points

Point requirements for grades:

A....43.0-50.0...excellent (with minor mistakes)
B....39.0-42.5...very good (above average with some mistakes)
C....35.0-38.5...good (solid with few major mistakes)
D....31.0-34.5...acceptable (with large number of major mistakes)
E....28.0-30.5...sufficient (satisfies minimum requirements)
F....0-27.5...insufficient (substantial extra work required)
