The purpose of the course is to achieve a basic competence for effective work with information and communication technologies. Mission study course Introduction to Computer Literacy I is to equip students, who are already moderately or intermediate to use computers, wider eligibility for effective work with information using basic application programs in their studies at university.

The aim of the course is to enhance the user's knowledge and skills relating to work with personal computer and extend of these skills and to orientate them on process of acquiring, processing and presentation of information. The course content focuses mainly on controlling software tools, respectively. applications for working with text and graphical data, especially for advanced creation of text documents, including the integration of graphics and processing figures through a spreadsheets calculators, including the creation of statistical charts and basics of data processing. It is oriented to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of computer networking functions with emphasis on the use of these resources in a search and information gathering, transmission of data between applications and the possibility of creation of documents in the student's own work.
