The course focuses on preparing the students for their future teaching. Students' mathematical culture is being developed and their positive approach to pupils is being encouraged. We try to connect the knowledge of mathematics and didactics of mathematics gained through previous instruction and to survey primary school mathematics education in a comprehensive way. The cohesion with other areas (psychology, pedagogy, natural sicences,...) will be studied as well. Students are encouraged to make records of their experience in their future teaching and to use them to improve their work.

The goal of the subject is to develop professional competence of future elementary teachers. The focus will be put on the deepening of (a) mathematical knowledge and didactic approaches to it, (b) using the knowledge in teaching practice.
