This course is intended for intermediate-level students, typically around B1 standard. The aim of the class is to build on students' existing knowledge of English to build confidence and understanding. Conversation is particularly important at this stage and active student participation in discussions, games etc. is essential. We will work on pre-advanced English grammar and vocabulary topics such as verb tenses, modal verbs, collocations, articles and simple conditionals. We will also work on developing your passive understanding of more complex English, e.g. lectures, films, news programs, etc.

Tento kurz je určen pro středně pokročilé studenty, kteří potřebují rozhýbat své převážně pasivní znalosti. Rozmanité aktivity v kurzu, konverzační i písemné, předpokládají aktivní účast i přípravu na hodiny. Interaktivními metodami si studenti osvojí principy anglické syntaxe a gramatiku a systematicky si budou rozšiřovat slovní zásobu. Kurz povede Dr James Partridge, jenž na první hodině bude specifikovat konkrétní požadavky a sylabus kurzu. Proto je třeba na této hodině být.
