Further studies of Latin for romanicists I. Reinforcement of the language knowledge and skills, enabling the comprehension of a Latin text. Translation of collocations, individual phrases and texts from Latin to Czech are the means of familiarization with the system of Latin language and its logic. A great focus is on vocabulary, the required lexical minimum contains approximately 400-500 lexical units, including living expressions and maxims. The etymologic connections between Latin, words of Latin origin used worldwide and the words used in the mother tongue will be emphasized during the course. It is essential for the students of French language to realize the close relationship between Latin and French, therefore they are systematically guided to independently deduce the French expressions out of the Latin basis and to logically derive their meanings. Pointing at the interconnection of the two languages is a preparation for the study of further linguistic disciplines.

Návaznost na kurz Latina pro romanisty 1.Prohlubování jazykových znalostí a dovedností, které umožňují porozumění latinskému textu. Překlady slovních spojení, jednotlivých vět a textů z latiny do češtiny jsou prostředkem k seznámení se systémem latinského jazyka a jeho logikou. Velký důraz je kladen na slovní zásobu Předepsané lexikální minimum obsahuje zhruba 400-500 lexikálních jednotek včetně živých slov a sentencí. Při výuce se důrazně poukazuje na etymologické souvislosti latinských slov s mezinárodně užívanými slovy latinského původu a se slovy užívanými v mateřském jazyce. Pro studenty francouzštiny je obzvláště důležité uvědomování si úzkého vztahu latiny a francouzštiny, jsou proto systematicky vedeni k samostatnému odvozování francouzských slov z latinského základu, k logickému odvozování jejich významu. Poukazování na vzájemnou propojenost obou jazyků je přípravou ke studiu dalších jazykových disciplín.
