Socrates. The aim is to test the possibility of extracting a core of Socratic thought. As companions in this undertaking, recent studies such as those of Hannah Arendt, Jeanne Hersch, and María Zambrano will be the focus, framed by texts of Plato and Xenophon. The fundamental question is to clarify the Socratic approach to non-knowledge as it manifests itself in the relation of thought to existential-individual as well as social and political attitudes.
