Guidelines |
Volume visualization is nowdays starting to receive a lot of attention as the non-destructive visualization methods like CT scanning are becoming a widespread solution. The application of these methods has extended beyond their original use in medicine and industry and is applied in many other scientific areas.
The task of this thesis is to create a tool for interactive isosurface visualization of CT scans of sets of human skulls for use in anthropology and public displays and concentrate on the visualization of their differences based on interactive ray marching methods on GPU. The thesis preparation starts with a literature search, especially in the areas of visualization of differences in isosurface spatial location and systems and methods for high-quality and interactive isosurface rendering. As the basis of the work, an isosurface render will be implemented on the GPU and a method for visualization of their difference will be realized. In the end a standalone application is to be created and compared with similar competitive systems. |

Preliminary scope of work |
