| Nekonečné matice a jejich determinanty se objevují cca před 150 lety při studiu diferenciálních rovnic pohybu planet (Hill 1877).
Příslušná matematická teorie vznikala postupně během následujících cca 50 let, a tvoří zajímavou podkapitolu historie funkcionální analýzy (Poincaré 1885, Hilbert 1904-, Helge von Koch 1891, J. von Neumann 1929). Práce by kompilačním, leč uceleným způsobem zpracovala vybranou část tématu. |
